we did a lot of searching for the tub that we wanted and the best option was Quality Bath. Not only was the tub exactly what we were looking for but our phone conversation with the staff was very helpful. She suggested accessories and installations products what made the whole purchase a much better transaction. Not a hard sales pitch but more like "here are some things you might need or things to consider". She helped us with shipping and combining shipments (a big issue for us because of our location) that made the whole thing possible.

If you deck mount the tub filler the lines will be concealed in the shell of the tub. If you do a freestanding tub filler you would need the bottom of the spout to clear the lip of the tub. The height of the lip is 24".

The tub faucets cannot be mounted in the center because that is where the drain and overflow is, so it has to be off to one side.

We chose this tub for our remodeled bathroom and have had it for about a year now. I chose it because it had room for a faucet on the tub deck itself, rather than requiring a floor-mount or wall-mount faucet. The ledge also allows you to place a few bath products within easy reach. The armrests were also a selling point, as was the modern yet classic shape. It is the first thing people notice when we show the bathroom, and everyone raves about it. I highly recommend installing a hand-shower along with tub filler to make cleaning easier (we did, and I'm glad we did). My husband is 6'2" and likes the length and depth of the tub. He has actually used it more than I have. We also like the fact that you just press the button near the top of the tub to drain it; you don't have to reach down into the water. The magnetic pillows are not a huge plus for me. It's hard to position them just right for someone my height (5'7"). But if you don't like them, you don't have to use them, so I don't consider it that drawback.
After shopping for freestanding tubs for over a year we chose the Optik by Maax. The bathtub was delivered earlier than promised, the shipper was great.... Love the tub and would recommend it to anyone wanting a stylish, sleek alternative for a modern bathroom. Only problem we had was finding a plumber to install it. It took 5 of them and the one who finally installed still couldn't understand the directions that came from Maax. Our local plumbers had no experience with this type of installation. The final result was a beautiful tub that would look great in any bathroom.
