The bottom handle is for temperature only. The top handle will turn on/off the water, and as you move it it will divert to each function.

Yes, the top handle will turn on the water and depending on where the handle is pointed either one of the water functions can be turned on, or both can be on at the same time.

I bought this and haven't had it installed yet, but I bought it 2 years ago for a different home, and it was the best showers I've ever taken. The price isn't cheap, but the quality is well worth it. Love the temperature control!

The back plate is plastic. Very dissapointing
Works great and looks great. If you look at the manual this unit has an option to operate two faucets at the same time. Used it in our master bath with dual shower heads and worked great.
