This is a hardwired towel warmer, so there is no exposed cord; the wiring goes directly in the wall. The top section if bars get the most heat, the middle section gets warm and the last section doesn't really get hot at all.

The towel warmer is great but the timer is poor quality. The first timer arrived in an opened package and had clearly been used it was replaced promptly by the manufacturer. The second timer was also faulty. The towel rack was professionally installed. Quality Bath offered us no solution for the second faulty timer. Our contractor purchased a timer from Lowes that worked.
