There is no rough required for this as it is an exposed unit so the mixing is done in the pipe itself as opposed to in the wall. There is an option at the drop down menu to get a remote pressure balance valve, which is required by some states in order to pass code (it prevents the hot water from getting too hot so no one gets burnt).
