Install a Toilet Anywhere You Want. High Level Of Styling.

Installing a HALF bathroom where you want is often difficult and sometimes even impossible. The main drainpipe is either too far away, or the new bathroom or sink will be lower than the drainpipe, making conventional installation unworkable.

The Sanitop is a system that is used to install a complete bathroom up to 12 feet below the sewer line, or even up to 120 feet away from a soil stack. It can handle the effluent from a toilet and sink.

A normal operating cycle for Sanitop takes about 7-9 seconds depending upon the discharge pipe run configuration; power consumption is therefore minimal.

A non-return valve, which comes already assembled on the discharge elbow, prevents back flow into the unit.

The design of this model consists of vibration absorbers which enable the reduction of operating sound by reducing the transmitted sounds from any location where such resonance transmission could occur. This new design reduces the operating sound of this pump by 10dB.

The Sanitop is simplicity itself to install; there are just four connections.
- The macerator/pump is connected to the spigot of a horizontal rear discharge toilet.
- The toilet tank is connected to the water supply.
- The macerator/pump is connected to the small diameter discharge pipe work.
- The macerator/pump is connected to the electrical supply.

The Sanitop has been certified to American and Canadian Standards.

This Sanitop system includes the Sanitop macerator pump and Saniflo rear spigot toilet

Questions and Answers

There are 10  questions about this item
What is a macerator?

To "macerate" is to soften and break in pieces. The Saniflo macerating systems use a rotating cutting blade to liquefy human waste and toilet paper. When mixed with flushing water the waste is pumped into a sanitary sewer as a fine slurry.

What does it mean a "half bathroom". Which units can be included in the bathroom.

The sanitop can connect to a toilet and sink make it a perfect option when creating a "half bathroom" (Half bathroom refers to sink and toilet only, no tub or shower.)

I don't like how the pump looks behind the toilet. Is there anyway to hide it?

You can install the macerator behind the wal by using an 18" Saniflo extension pipe. When using the extension pipe, the toilet should be raised 3/8" for additional gravity flow toward the macerator.

How will I know if there is a problem with the unit or if it is starting to get backed up?

You can install a SaniAlarm. The SaniAlarm has a level pressure switch that triggers an alarm fixed on the top of the unit if the volume of water exceeds the maximum allowed level. The alarm emits a continuous 80 dB warning sound until it is switched off or the problem is rectified. The SaniAlarm is battery operated and can be installed on most Saniflo macerating units and gray water pumps. It has been designed to be installed on new or existing Saniflo installations as it is quickly fitted onto the lid of the Saniflo unit. Note: Saniflo recommends using a SaniAlarm for a behind the wall installation.

It says the toilet seat is not included, how do I know which one to purchase?

We offer toilet seats on this product page that have a soft close feature. If you do not want this feature you can purchase any standard elongated or round toilet seat (depending on the toilet model you select)

Sanitop Toilet with Macerator Series Pump 017...does this unit require venting?

All macerators and gray water pumps have been designed with a vent connection on the lid. All plumbing codes require connection to a vent system. Please note that the vent system should be a two-way air vent. The use of mechanical vents, air admittance valves or similar devices are not permitted as these are considered one-way vent systems

does this unit require a vent?

The sanitop macerator pump has been designed with a vent connection on the lid. All plumbing codes require connection to a vent system. Please note that the vent system should be a two-way air vent. The use of mechanical vents, air admittance valves or similar devices are not permitted as these are considered one-way vent systems

I purchased a Saniflo Sanibest macerator pump5 or6 years ago and the motor is burned out . Can yo sell just the pump without the toilet? Thanks, Dave Robertson

Yes this is available as pump only. The model # is Saniflo Sanibest Pro Grinder Series Pump Only - 013

Can Saniflo Sanitop Toilet with Macerator Series Pump 017 - 017-003-005 be used for a full bathroom? or only for a 1/2 bath? I am in the process of moving a bathroom and am running into issues with using a 3" pipe. This appears to be my solution, allowing me to use a smaller (2") pipe. Is there anything special I need to do to tie this into the tub and sink drain without having the pump, pump waste up into the sink or tub? Sue

The Sanitop is not the correct pump for a full bathroom. You would want to use the Saniplus or the Sanibest for that.

How does the toilet attach to floor so it wont rock or move? What side can you attach sink drain? Thank you.

Hi Bob, The Saniflo toilet is mounted to the floor like every other standard toilet, a anchor bolt on either side. The intake side for a sink drain for the Sanitop would be on the pumps left hand side when facing the pump straight on. Please feel free contacting us for any further assistance.

Saniflo Sanitop Toilet with Macerator Series Pump was easy to install, fast shipping

In 2013, had to replace a septic system and forced to connect to a public sewer line, YES! Rather expensive and the worst part was our basement toilet was 6" off the grade to be connected to the main system. With 3 mature adults, 2 young adults and a tween we needed the other toilet. The plumber said they would install an "Up-flush Toilet" for an extra $3000.00 bucks! Decided to look into an ""Up-flush Toilet" system. Checked our local Home Depot and Lowe's first, they both had almost the same type with a very BIG holding tank base under the toilet that made you take 1 step up to sit down and expensive in comparison. After months of comparing I was convinced it was the one best suited for our needs. Upon deciding where to purchase, a friend of ours had a house built and installed a Saniflo Sanitop Toilet as well and they had no idea we were looking, so as luck would have it we had a "without a doubt" solid decision. I found Quality Bath site ( had great reviews, so I ordered Saniflo Sanitop Toilet with Macerator Series Pump on 4/14/2015 quick response, fast delivery, no broken or missing parts and it was easy to install at a total cost with PVC pipes about $950.00 and today it works great!.

Perfect solution to ny bathroom relocation project

I was faced with a problem. The 3rd floor in my house had one bathroom in the front left side of the floor. I needed to divide the space to make 2 complete befrooms which would have keft the bathroom in one of the bedrooms. Not very practical for the person in the 2nd bedroom. My challenge was drain pipes. I needed to move the bathroom, but didn't have the space in the floor for the 3" pipes without comprimising the sthrength of the floor joists The macerating toilet made it possible. I now have 2 beautiful bedrooms with a terrific, fully functioning centrally located bathroom. It was very easy to install. Customer support was great I would definately use this product again. And definately recommend you to a friend Sue

Our sanitop was installed a few weeks ago and we have not had any problems with it yet. It is a secondary toilet in our soon to be finished basement so it does not get a ton of use yet. We hired a plumber to rough in the plumbing but we hooked up the toilet and sink ourselves and it was not difficult. We bought the extension pipe so the macerator hides behind the wall. It looks like a normal toilet but you can definitely hear the macerator when its working but its quick. I would definitely recommend this to someone looking to install a bathroom in their basement.

I bought this toilet around May of 2014 and it is still running strong with no issues. We love having a toilet down here and how easy it was to install. Very happy customer! :)

Jenna from MA —

The toilet works great . We needed another restroom in our house and the only place we could put it was in the basement . I looked into other toilets ,but you had to rise them up about 6 inches off the floor . Our basement is not very tall , so I couldn't rise it that much . The one thing I was worried about was the 3/4 inch drain line . So far it seems to be working pretty darn good . Sometimes you have to flush it twice to get all the waste down . One thing I did find out is when you go to clean inside the bowl , you need to unplug it , to get enough water in it with toilet bowl cleaner to get the whole bowl wet . It is not very loud when the macerator kicks on . Service with this company was great . I had a part missing and they took care of it right away with Saniflo.

Great Product

The Saniflo Toilet with Macerator works great. We put it in the basement and I was able to have a fully functioning powder room without the hassle and expensive of putting in a regular toilet. My father was able to install the unit with the installation directions in a matter of a few hours. The only downfall is the noise. The macerator is louder that I thought it was going to be. However, the benefit of having the powder room outways the noise level. Great product.

Sanifli Sanitop - Good Product

This product works as advertised, the install was relatively straight forward. Took a few hours to install ( granted I prepped the area in advance) . Ran into one small issue with a part missing but I called the vendor and it was at my door step a day or so later. Been installed for 6 months now with no issues or concerns. Great product for a bathroom that need to flush up….

Shipping was fast and free. The price that Quality Bath charged for the unit was great. I wanted to install a bathroom in the basement without breaking up the floor. The Saniflo was the ticket. Easy installation and it works great. I'm very happy with this purchase.

we are quite pleased with the Saniflo Upflush system we purchased from Quality Bath.

we are quite pleased with the Saniflo Upflush system we purchased from Quality Bath. We have it in the basement of our cabin and if not for this type of system we would have not been able to have a second bathroom , The instructions for install were not too difficult to follow and it looks like a normal toilet , we have painted the black pipe white with a small table in front of the pipe . Very happy with our purchase.

I like the ease of installation.

I work in @ a big box store. I didnt go with the basement toilet we have on display, because it sat on a platform & the saniflo does not. I like the ease of installation. The only concern I have is the water level in the toilet is way low.

I was very pleased with our recent purchase of a Saniflo toilet system

I just wanted to inform you that I was very pleased with our recent purchase of a Saniflo toilet system. We purchased from Quality Bath because of price and pre purchase information you provided. The toilet arrived quickly and we contracted with a plummer to make the installation because of the challenge of cutting into a difficult to access septic line in the ceiling of our basement for both the outflow line and the air vent. We have had the unit in operation for over three months and it performs every bit as well as a conventional toilet. We also installed a sink to the system to complete the basement 1/2 bath. I hesitated for years in my purchase of a pump-up toilet but based on my experience with the Saniflo system I would do it again without hesitation. One tip recommended by both plummers we implemented simplified installation. Rather than install a separate air vent line or attempt to vent directly to the outside, the plummer tapped the top of the septic line prior to the outflow connection for the air vent line. Makes logical sense and works very well.

Toilet looks and functions great.

Toilet looks and functions great. One of our installers even commented that he may buy one. I highly recommend the extension pipe if you can install it against a non-finished wall.

Tom K from PA —
I would highly recommend Saniflo systems to other consumers.

I am very happy with my purchase, it works great! Shipping was quick and the unit was well packed. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the product. The Saniflo system was easy to install, as the instructions were easy to follow. It is a great addition to the "man cave", and I would highly recommend Saniflo systems to other consumers.

We have been delighted with the Saniflo Sanitop we purchased from Quality Bath.

We have been delighted with the Saniflo Sanitop we purchased from Quality Bath. With the clear and easy to follow directions, my father and I had it installed in my basement in no time. No home should have just one bathroom! The Saniflo operates quietly & efficiently and we have not had a single problem since we installed it two months ago. I was impressed with the quality and I loved the no slam toilet seat that we bought with it. We highly recommend your product to our friends & neighbors, in fact my sister installed one in her basement. Thanks for selling a superior product.

Julia T. from PA —
Extremely happy with our saniflo system.

Extremely happy with our saniflo system. Very reliable easy to install, only complaint is the low water level in the bowl.

Chris from PA —
I am very happy with Saniflo.

I am very happy with Saniflo. It works great, was easy to install and does not take a lot of space. We installed it in our second bathroom and it was a great idea. I don't have any other comments or sugestions other than the delivery was on time and we did not have any issues.

This product is truly one of the most amazing products I have ever installed

This product is truly one of the most amazing products I have ever installed. Due to the poor economy my son and his family recently moved into my 4 bedroom 2 bath house. The house split the house nicely but we needed another bathroom for guests. The logical place was a closet in the foyer but my house is built on a concrete slab which would have to be cut and removed to allow for plumbing. Searching the internet I came upon your add and the rest is history. This system works perfectly, was delivered fast and free. All plumbing goes up through attic and into the garage where I connected fresh water to the the hotwater tank inlet and waste discharges into a 2 " sewage stack behind the washing machine. .The saniflo is fairly quiet, and also allows a drain for a sink .Dollar for dollar the saniflo was a great cost saver when compared to what was involved in getting a 4 " sewer line and fresh water to a conventional toilet. I highly recommend the saniflo, but unless you are skilled do it yourself type, seek some professional plumbing help, as the plumbing does requires some knowledge. Friends are amazed by the saniflo and often comment of a time or place where a saniflo could have been used.

Daryl from FL —
I really like this toilet its easy to install and works great.

I really like this toilet its easy to install and works great. The only thing someone might wan to know is that you need to vent it out some where for the gases so they have everything they need for the install. Other than that it works great was shipped in a very timely matter and the communication of shipping was great.

julie lewis from CO —
We didn’t fully understand from the product description that we needed to subtract three feet of lift for every 90º elbow

I had converted a garage into a master bedroom suite a couple of years ago, but was unable to add a desired bathroom due to the location of the proposed bath and my existing sewer drain lines.  I would have had to jackhammer approximately 15 feet of concrete and install a lift station to allow for a standard toilet system – the cost of which would have been exorbitant. After substantial online research into alternative solutions, I settled on the Saniflo Sanibest system.  I installed this by myself (Purchasing Agent by trade) and, so far, am very pleased with the performance.  (It’s been in service for about 1 month).  My system supports a vanity sink and shower, as well.  I’ve attached a couple of photos of the finished installation. I had a couple of questions before/during installation, and the Saniflo Customer Support was extremely helpful, and I never once had to wait to speak with a representative.  Of course, as with any such purchase, my only concern is that support/parts, etc. will still be available for this system 10+ years down the road.  We’ll just have to wait and see how that goes. All in all, I would highly recommend this system, and feel that anyone with basic handyman skills could successfully install it.
