Newport BrassSingle Function Hand Shower283-4/VB

This hand shower is beautiful and super heavy duty solid brass. I purchased based on looks/compatibility and installed with all Newport Brass shower thermostatic valve / main head system. Everything was superb until I actually started to use it. The hand shower water pressure is very low - with valve fully open the spray height is less than 6 inches pointing straight upward. I know the NB valve is low flow 2.5gpm, but c'mon this is not a usable pressure. If I cover up a third of the 63 rubber nozzles with my finger the pressure is much better -- I seems like the design engineers did not evaluate at the right flow rate. The other issue I have with this hand shower is that it way too heavy -- it is difficult to hold and I am worried that the weight will crack shower glass or marble tile if I drop it. I realized that solid brass means heavy duty and weight, but I did not think it would be this heavy and expected that NB design engineers would have taken this into consideration. Overall, the NB 283-4 hand shower is beautiful but not practical for use. The rest of the Newport Brass system is 5*.
