Usage:

Kitchen faucets are the primary sink faucets or two that you use in your kitchen. They are made to be used in larger sinks and for a diverse set of major uses. A kitchen sink faucet tends to be large and long, along with spray and other features to diversify use.

Bar faucets are designed to be used in the bar sink, i.e. a secondary kitchen sink, or sink in a bar or food preparatory area. A bar sink faucet is typically smaller, and is installed in one hole, and comes with more basic features.

Pot Fillers are a fairly new hot trend in the kitchen. They are long faucet like fixtures – either wall mounted or “deck mounted” on the counter – that go over the stovetop and/or countertop area. This allows you to fill pots with water without needing to lift them up and carry much, as you need to do when filling a pot in the sink. A pot filler also adds a prominent, impressive decorative enhancement to the kitchen.

Laundry faucets are the simplest and most utilitarian faucets. Some of them are especially long to work well with large laundry sinks.

Water Filtration faucets are designed to be connected to a water filtration system and be used primarily for drinking water. The filtration system must be purchased in addition to the faucet. The filtration cartridges need to be replaced every six months or so. The water that comes out is cleansed of dirt and bacteria, and is delicious to drink. Some water filtration faucets offer cold water only, while others have separate levers for hot and cold water. The hot, near boiling water, gets heated in a hot water tank below the sink (may be included or must be purchased separately). It does not go through the filter system, but gets purified when heated up. It is available instantly when you turn the lever!

Style:

Single Lever faucets have one lever, or handle, that both opens and shuts the water and regulates temperature. A single handle kitchen faucet is very easy to operate and adjust. They also look sleek and are space efficient.

Pull-Out/Pull-Down kitchen faucets have spouts that pull out several inches so that they have great access to the entire sink - even to the surrounding countertop – without having a gigantic faucet all the time. Pull-out faucets pull out in a more horizontal leaning direction, towards you. Pull-down faucets are pitched more downward, towards the bottom of the sink. Pull-out and pull-down faucets typically feature a spray option in the spout, making it perfect for cleaning without a requiring a separate side spray.

Single Hole faucets have the entire mechanism - spout, lever(s) and/or sidespray - in one bulk. You only require one hole in the sink/countertop to install it, and these faucets looks more compact and sleek. A single hole kitchen faucet comes either with one single lever to control the water, or with a separate hot and cold handles that are connected to the main faucet body.

Widespread faucets have separate pieces for – each - the spout, one or two levers/handles, and, often, sidespray. This requires a separate hole in sink/countertop per piece for installation. Widespread faucets offer a very attractive decorative option. The faucet can cover a wide section of the sink, while individual pieces can be beautiful and dainty.

Bridge faucets combine elements of widespread and single hole faucets. A bridge faucet is wide and impressive, and needs two or more holes to be installed, but the spout and handles are connected with a “bridge.” Most bridge faucets feature a traditional vintage look. You can choose a bridge faucet with side spray or a bridge faucet without a side spray.

Culinary faucets offer a very cool unique look. They are tall, long and imposing, and feature industrial faucet cues. Culinary faucets are particularly easy to maneuver, and more flexible at that. Your kitchen will make you feel like the professional chef you are, while making cooking and cleaning easier.

Wall Mount faucets offer you the option of installing your faucet on the wall above the sink, as opposed to on the sink/countertop. Wall mount faucets free up space on your sink rim and counter, while putting a beautiful faucet more prominently in view.
