We all love shower time, but why not add a load of design too?

You can choose shower controls and sets from across the traditional, transitional and contemporary/modern design spectrum. You can go bold, minimalist and everywhere in between. A shower control no longer indicates a mere mechanism to control your shower!

Most of the products that QualityBath.com lists under the Shower Controls category are the controls that set the shower’s temperature and pressure, as well as diverters that let you alternate between bath and shower. You would need to purchase the shower head, hand shower and/or tub spout separately. However, there are quite a few shower sets, which also include the shower head and/or hand shower, listed under this category. Whatever you are looking for, bear in mind that the listing features both full shower controls and sets, which include the rough plumbing too, as well as a shower trim, which include only the decorative trim. To purchase trim, you would need to have the rough plumbing, from the same manufacturer, compatible to the same system type, already purchased or installed.

A key shower control factor is whether you prefer thermostatic shower controls or pressure balance shower controls.

Thermostatic shower controls cost more, but they are the most precise and convenient. They feature a separate temperature controller and water pressure controller. You set the temperature to your desired point and the water comes out consistently at that precise temperature regardless of whether any sinks, appliances or water fixtures are being used in your home at the time. You can leave the temperature control in place, without the need to adjust, for as many showers as you’d like. Shower thermostatic control also allows you to run more than one fixture (e.g. a shower head and hand shower) at once.

Pressure balance shower controls feature a single control for both temperature and pressure, and cost less. They regulate the temperature by maintaining a pressure balance between the hot and cold water flows. This provides good protection against major temperature fluctuations due to appliances and fixtures being turned on and off, and the like, but without the level of precision offered by thermostatic temperature controls. You will also need to reset the temperature every time you take a shower.
