A solid surface tub or an engineered/man made stone tub, are an awesome combination of natural resources and contemporary manufacturing capabilities. Manufacturers of solid surface tubs take their own unique mixture of natural stone and/or other materials, grind it and blend it. This mixture is then placed into a bathtub mold and finished to perfection.
The result is a solid surface bathtub that is made of one piece, whose panels are thinner and sleeker than tubs made of conventional materials. The nature of this process means that the tub’s panels are solid - not shells with air – and they are moldable into beautiful artistic shapes. Solid surface and man made stone materials are made to be resilient to every day use and easy to clean; they are effectively resistant to chips and scratches. More than just looks, solid surface materials have a unique awesome feel every time your skin rubs against it: smooth, soft and caressing.
Virtually all solid surface baths and stone tubs are freestanding solid surface tubs. These artistic masterpieces are beautiful when placed front and center in the bathroom. However, there is also a small selection of drop in solid surface baths. Dozens of freestanding solid surface tubs can also be installed as <undermount tubs. Refer to specs for individual models.
