Q:Can you explain a bit the functions of each handle, please? Which one controls the volume, the small upper one? If so, which is the diverter, the little knob on the big bottom handle?

The bottom handle is for temperature only. The top handle will turn on/off the water, and as you move it it will divert to each function.

Great shower set!
I bought this and haven't had it installed yet, but I bought it 2 years ago for a different home, and it was the best showers I've ever taken. The price isn't cheap, but the quality is well worth it. Love the temperature control!
