The bottom grid only sits at the bottom of the sink to help protect it from scratches. If you want a grid to sit on the shelf you'd need to get the shelf grid.

It has a standard drain. The part you see is a square drain cover that can be pulled off. Underneath you would put a regular round drain with a basket strainer.

Yes, underneath the square cover is a standard 3 1/2" opening so any disposal will work.
