How to Change the Disposal Flange on a Blanco Silgranit Sink

Who doesn’t love a garbage disposal?
The little powerhouse may just be the most awesome addition to any sink. Sometimes, though, you may wish it was a tad more attractive, especially if your sink isn’t stainless steel.
You chose your Blanco Silgranit sink carefully, and the standard Insinkerator garbage disposal is an unsightly blight on your color-coordinated sink. Luckily, Blanco offers a flange (the part that fits into the drain hole) that virtually disappears into your sink surface, so you can have your disposal and look pretty too!
If you’re not the handy type, you may be afraid to mess with that flange. Don’t call a plumber – we can help you with that! Just follow these simple steps to swap the Insinkerator’s metal flange for Blanco’s color-matched flange.
- Unplug the garbage disposal. This is important if you want to keep your fingers! For extra safety, turn off the power at the electrical panel.
- Remove the rubber splash guard from your Insinkerator flange. It should pop out easily.
- Assemble the Blanco flange. Insert the rubber guard into the bottom of the strainer piece. Press firmly to ensure a good seal.
- Insert the entire Blanco assembly into the drain. Push down firmly to snap it in.
