This has to do with your plumbing pipes - are they PVC/PEX (plastic) or copper. Most places use plastic, mainly New York City uses copper pipes.

This is a wall hung toilet and requires an in wall tank carrier. The carrier is a rear inlet. The cotton white is white as cotton (as it's name suggests). The colonial white has yellow tones in it.
