Here's our experience with the Fairmont Designs vanity set we purchased. We chose this unit because we thought we needed a unit that was shallow front to back and because it fit our rather tight budget. It looks fine. I'm happy with the wood vanity base and mirror. However: 1) When we first installed the vanity/sink/plumbing the drain kept leaking. This went on for months with my husband trying to troubleshoot the problem. Finally, he took the whole thing apart. He discovered the rim of the sink's drain opening was uneven. He filed it down, reinstalled the sink and it's been fine since then. But still... 2) The bowl of the sink is so short, front to back, that it's very difficult to wash one's hands without splashing water and soap suds all over the horizontal (apron?) part of the sink top and the wall behind. This is an unexpected consequence of our deliberate decision; it may benefit future customers to know this so they can consider it. On the other hand, I consider the following to be a design or manufacturing flaw: the back platform of the sink top, where the faucets and tap are, seems to slope downward from the center towards the sides so soapy water pools at either end of the inset. So if we were buying with the benefit of hindsight, we probably wouldn't have bought this unit.
