The Sanivite gray water pump is the perfect solution for a basement apartment or anywhere else that you need to add additional plumbing fixtures. The Sanivite is preferred for heavy duty application because of its unique design and capabilities.

The inside of the Sanivite is comprised of a pressure chamber, which starts and stops the unit, and the motor, which drives the pump.

When the water enters the Sanivite, it activates a micro switch in the pressure chamber, which in turn starts the motor. The motor is sealed for life in an oil filled enclosure. A spindle/shaft drives the impeller and therefore the moving parts are kept to an absolute minimum. Water enters the chamber and is pumped away into the sanitary sewer.

The unit pumps the effluent upward to 16 feet and/or 150 feet horizontally (with gravity fall). Once the water is discharged and the water level in the container goes down, the micro switch deactivates the unit until water enters the unit again. A normal operating cycle for the Sanivite can be as short as 2 - 10 seconds depending upon the discharge pipe run configuration; power consumption is therefore minimal.

Waste water from additional sanitary fixures is discharged into the sanivite via two 1-1/2" inlets on either side of the housing and another on top. The sanivite can accommodate a sink, shower, bathtub, urinal and even a whirlpool (additional base needed for shower and tub).

This unit has been designed with a vent connection on the lid. All plumbing codes require connection to a vent system. Please note that the vent system should be a two-way air vent. The use of mechanical vents, air admittance valves or similar devices are not permitted as these are considered one-way air vent systems.

It is also highly recommended for the gray water pump to be connected to a Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) circuit.

The Sanivite is small enough to fit comfortably inside a kitchen cabinet or vanity or inside the overhang of a whirlpool.
Questions and Answers
There are 4 questions and answers about this item
Q:The shower drain is almost at slab level. Will this unit work with little or no flow into the pump?
A:

You would have to have the drain flow into the pipe on its own with gravity. You should raise the drain if possible.

Q:Will this system work with a washer machine connected directly to it?
A:

The washing machine needs to be indirectly connected (so it would first go to a utility sink for example) to slow down the flow of water to the pump.

I have had this for about 6 years now, and it has worked flawlessly. It pumps water from a sink in the basement, which is also collecting water from a washing machine. I run a PVC pipe from it into the the sewer line. Perfect for this type of an application where the water must be pumped up.

Quieter than expected. Mine is connected to a bar sink and with use just get intermittent pulses as it clears out the water. The unit is designed to handle a lot more but the compact size worked well for my needs. Plumber had no difficulty with the install. This brand has a very good reputation. Item also shipped quickly.

I have not completed installation yet, but was very pleased with customer service providing a missing fitting with just 1 phone call. I'm very pleased with what I expect the product do for my downstairs - basement bathroom project.

I purchased the small pump to make up for the lack of slope between the kitchen and the sewer line. It seemed to be working fine, but stopped after the first day. The plumber wanted me to return it, but Saniflo said we had to trouble shoot first. We did, and they accepted the return in exchange for a replacement pump. The very solid housing for the pump was cracked/broken. It must have taken a blow in shipping. I doubt I will have that problem with the replacement. The new pump is in and works fine. It is not noisy, but you can hear it start up in the cabinet under the sink. So far, it looks like a good pump and I expect to be pleased over the long-term. My only question is what to do about the occasional bits of food that go down the drain. Hopefully, I will not have a problem with clogging after a period of use. Quality Bath was cordial and helpful in facilitating communication with Saniflo.

I ordered and received the Sanivite P110 - just a graywater pump - I am in the process of installing the thing now - haven't had the opportunity to run it yet but I feel the thing is quality built and should do a fine job - you asked for suggestions and comments - the instructions about the "vent" install aren't clear - from what I could see there aren't any markings on the top of the unit that identifies the vent hookup - unless you can use either one -BUT- the one where the cable for the motor enters the unit doesn't look like it should be used for an inlet for water - it's right over where the cable enters the box - didn't look right to me so I used that one for the vent connection - if that's correct - which I surmise it is - that connection should be so marked - aside from that I had no issues what so ever in planning out the install - just haven't gotten around to it
