Interior Lighting
By Trend
Trend is a division of McFadden Lighting Co., Inc. McFadden started in 1940 manufacturing theatre lighting. For sixty years they have been the premier church lighting manufacturer and are now the oldest church lighting manufacturer in the country. We are a family owned business with both the father and the son very involved in all aspects of the day-to-day operations.
Approximately twenty years ago, our local representative covered an area where the headquarters of a major hotel chain is located. At that time, they were doing much of their own "Design and Build" and were looking for a source for an inexpensive wall sconce for corridor lighting. He approached McFadden to see if they could furnish something and Trend Lighting was the result.
Trend started with a line of wall sconces and RLM shades. At that time we also did quite a bit of custom lighting. Over the years we have added many more items to our catalog - acrylic bowls (both shallow and deep); a complete line of ADA wall sconces; a line of glass pendants, wall sconces and chandeliers; and Williamsburg-type chandeliers. The majority of our wall fixtures have compact fluorescent options and our bowls are available in compact fluorescent, Biax, and metal halide as well as incandescent.
Almost three years ago we introduced our "Mix & Match" brochure (which was conceived and designed by us) and it by far has had the largest impact on the marketplace. The uniqueness of the design, allowing specifiers to literally design their own fixture, has been a very huge success. We are currently working on the same concept for our bowls and the various hanging options. This piece of literature should be out by the end of the year. There will be several new designs in this brochure and we believe it will be just as exciting and successful as the original "Mix & Match."
One of our strongest points, in addition to our custom capabilities, is our willingness to offer the customer many different options. These include finishes, lamp options, mounting options, and modification to the "standard" fixture.
