Better Homes & Gardens Special Interest Magazine - Kitchen and Bath Ideas - has honored MTI Whirlpools' Sapelo as one of the 30 most innovative products of the year. The announcement appeared in the November/December 2005 issue.
The editors of Better Homes & Gardens reviewed all of the new products introduced in 2005 in ALL product categories - including appliances, sinks, faucets, bathtubs and countertops. Out of all these categories, the editors picked 30 of the most innovative products of the year; MTI Whirlpools' Sapelo freestanding bath lead the way. Sapelo was recognized because of its standout style, functional foresight and potential for customization. The tub was featured in a full-page award mention on page #47 of the magazine.
The Sapelo bath was designed by Russell Adams, Vice President of MTI Whirlpools. He was striving to create a tub that combined function with a style that was very modern and streamlined. Japenese architecture inspired the design, particularly the o'tori gates and shrine archways. The unique freestanding tub design creates a minimalist look popular in the luxury market today. Sapelo is a rectangular-shaped tub that features adjacent concave lines on all sides and surfaces and measures 72" long. It is also available with decorative metal cladding.

I saw the perfect vanity (after an exhaustive search) in a HIGH END bath hardware store in Timonium MD, but didn''''''''t like the way we were treated by the arrogant and obnoxious gentleman that waited on us. I found the SAME cabinet on Quality Bath''''''''s website and had every intention of ordering it, mostly to keep us from to go back to the bath store in Timonium, but in the interim, and to our good fortune, we saved a little more than $630 by buying it from Quality Bath. They responded to written queries promptly followed up the order with email confirmations, and the shipping was by common carrier on the date of our choice (again with an emailed notice). The product arrived completely intact and according to schedule. We were grateful to find this source rather than pay more than we needed to a brick and mortar company with lousy service.
